Info

The concept involves transforming the atrium into a multifunctional debate space without expanding its physical footprint. A vertically extended and visually striking central element will anchor the space, housing smaller debate chambers on each level. These chambers are seamlessly connected to the surrounding walkways, allowing for interaction across levels. At the beginning of an event, headphones will be distributed to the audience, allowing them to tune into any debate taking place in the debate chambers. The chambers are acoustically enhanced and can be closed with a zipper when needed. On the ground floor, the debate will take place openly and without the use of headphones. The atrium itself serves as the "hearth" in the Semperian sense - a central and communal gathering space. While the grand debate (Symposium) takes place on the ground floor, the entire atrium becomes an active venue for discussions, allowing debates to unfold across multiple levels. A third digital layer will be integrated, consisting of a surface that projects the debates and includes virtual participants. This digital interface bridges physical and virtual interactions. Each smaller chamber is equipped with microphones and cameras, enabling real-time engagement and connectivity, ensuring the atrium thrives as a dynamic and inclusive hub for debate and discourse.
